Writing the numerals 0 to 20
Step 2 · Numbers to 100 topics
Write the numerals from 0 to 20, and write the right numeral for a group of things, with 0 for none.
Zero means none
Zero, written 0, is the number for none. An empty plate has 0 cookies. If you have 3 balloons and all 3 float away, you have 0 left.
Writing 0 to 10
Each numeral from 0 to 9 is one mark. Start at the top when you write them. Ten is the first number written with two numerals: 1 and 0.
| Numeral | Word |

| 0 | zero |
| 1 | one |
| 2 | two |
| 3 | three |
| 4 | four |
| 5 | five |

Writing 11 to 20
The numbers 11 to 19 are a ten and some more. They are written with a 1 for the ten and then the extra ones: 13 is a ten and 3 ones.
